All our classes happen on Sunday evenings inside at The Havelock Centre in the heart of Southsea. We have a 10 yard range suitable for everyone to experience and learn about archery.

Our coaches will guide you through your session or course and by the end of it hopefully you would have had fun, learned something new and possibly even wish to continue with archery.

Due to the equipment the minimum age to take part in a taster session or course is 8.

Taster Sessions

Our taster sessions are perfect for people who want to try archery as a one-off experience or to see if you would like to do a full beginners course

We run several sessions a year and they are 1 hour long with full tuition and full kit provided for only £8pp which is great value for money.

Out coaches will teach you how to shoot a bow and finally play some fun games.

Beginners Course

This course is great for those looking to take archery on as a hobby or for people who just want to experience archery in more detail.

If you are looking to take up archery as a hobby you will need to complete a beginners course to ensure you know the basics of shooting and safety information.

The course runs over six weeks for one hour each week. We aim to take someone from never lifting a bow through to being competent enough to shoot within a club and all who complete the course will receive a certifcate.

Our courses follow the recommended course programme set by Archery GB and will learn many things:

- The safety rules of an archery range
- Equipment used in target archery
- Hitting a target, both barebow and sighted
- What are Rounds and how to score
- Different types of archery and bows
- How to select equipment that's right for you
- What you can do after the course
