Location

Our Trainning Sessions are held at our 10m indoor range at The Havelock Community Centre. It's perfect for beginners and easy to find!

We run Improvers courses on Sundays, 8pm-9:30pm. The up-coming dates for courses are below. Please remember that there are five dates per course. All five dates are shown for each course.

For everyone who is thinking about doing our courses you are likely to have Sonnie, Mark or Dave as your coaches. Sonnie, Mark & Dave have been running all our courses together. They have proved to be a good team with over 8 years teaching experience between them!

Our Coaching Team

PRE-REQUISITES

- Must have attended and passed a Beginners Course

- Have your own Recurve bow and arrows


COURSE CONTENT

This course has been designed by our coaches here at Southsea Archery, Over 7 weeks you will be coached to get you shooting routine better and progress yourself to the next level. During the course you will understand and have:

- The initial set-up of your bow

- Keep an equipment log 

​- Full break-down and analysis of the T-Draw Technique

- 7 week Individual coaching plan

- Maintenance and repair of equipment (if needed)

To see resaults in this time scale you will need to be shooting at least 2/3 times a week For shooting at our club see Club Zone

Improvers Course


This course is great for Recurve archers who are looking to take their archery on to the next level. This course has been designed here at the club and follows a  7 week coaching plan that will help you get to the next level focusing on technique. This course will be five 1.5 hour sessions spread over 7 weeks. Perfect if you've just finished a beginners course or find yourself stuck.  During the course it is recommended that you attend club shoots to get more out of your coaching and get more practice under your belt. On completion of the course we hope that you will understand the T-Draw technique in more detail and also have the knowledge and tools to get yourself shooting competitively.
